Do I have to make payments on my loan while my child is in school? | Private Student Loans

If you are applying for a Parent Loan, you will be required to make payments while your student is in school. At this time, we only offer interest-only and full repayment options for Parent Loans. If you select interest-only repayment, you will only be required to make payments towards the interest while your student is enrolled and for 9 months following graduation. After this grace period, you will be required to make the full minimum payment. For more information on repayment plans, please feel free to review this article.

If you are a cosigner on a loan, there are a few different repayment options that may be available to allow you to defer payments while your student is attending school. For more information on repayment options available on cosigned loans, please refer to this article.
