Your housing payment will be considered while we're considering how affordable the loan would be for you. In all cases, when using the rate check tool and the full application, you should enter your own individual responsibility for the housing payment.
If you jointly pay rent/mortgage, enter the amount you individually contribute towards the payment (rather than the full payment). We understand that clients sharing a joint mortgage may not be paying the full mortgage payment appearing on their credit report. If a mortgage shows up as a joint account on your credit report, we take that into account in our underwriting model.
If you don't individually pay rent/mortgage, enter $0. If your housing payment is $0, we assume that this could change over the course of a 3-20 year loan term and take that into account in our underwriting model.
