Yes. We recommend continuing to make payments until your previous servicer shows a $0 balance. This helps you avoid a late payment if your servicer has not yet processed Earnest's payoff funds.
If your payment is processed before the payoff is completed, it may result in an overpayment on your previous loan. Depending on the circumstances, the refund may be sent directly to you or returned to Earnest. If Earnest receives the refund, we’ll apply it to the principal balance of your Earnest loan. The refund process typically takes 30 - 45 days.
