At this time, Earnest is only able to offer loans to applicants with an eligible citizenship or residency status who are currently residing in one of the U.S. states we serve. If you are traveling or temporarily outside of the United States, you may still be eligible as long as your permanent residence is in a state where Earnest lends. You must also be employed (Independent graduate private student loan applicants excluded), earning income, and paying U.S. taxes in an eligible state.
