Does Earnest Consider Household Incomes When Reviewing Applications? | Applying For Loans

All Earnest applications are reviewed based on the applicant's financial profile. This includes (but is not limited to) a person's income, credit profile, and debt levels.

If you are applying for a Student Loan Refinance, we can consider total household income and jointly held assets when reviewing your application. Household income can come from anyone in your household who regularly supports your expenses. However, please note that household income will not be considered in place of your personal income. To be eligible, you must have some amount of your own annual income as well. Any joint assets must be based in the US, have a USD balance, and list the applicant as a joint owner on the asset statement. It’s important to note that being the beneficiary of an account is not the same as joint ownership. For more information on the types of assets we can consider, feel free to check out this article here.
