Will Earnest Match the Current Grace Period on my Student Loan? | Student Loan Refinancing

Yes! With documentation from your previous loan provider (i.e., Earnest, SoFi, Mohela, etc.) to confirm, we may match your existing grace period for up to nine months. It’s important to note, that full principal and interest plans may not have a grace period in the repayment terms. Once your Earnest refinance loan is approved and you've signed your loan agreement, please complete the 'Grace Period Match Request Form' found at the bottom of this article.

For Earnest clients, you can upload the completed, signed, and dated form to your Earnest account by following these steps:

  1. Sign in to your Earnest account. 
  2. Click “Referrals” from the left-side navigation menu. 
  3. Under Account select “Upload Documents.”
  4. Drop your file into the box and click "Save Changes" at the bottom. Please note that the maximum file capacity is 10MB.

Since we are not automatically notified when documents are uploaded, please send us a quick email to let us know you've uploaded the document.

For NaviRefi clients, please send your completed, signed, and dated form to: naviREFI_documents@navient.com

Note that for all grace periods, interest will still accrue on the loan.
